Beth Hassler, Viola & Violin Teaching Artist/Coach, Performing Musician
Beth attended the University of Minnesota, where she earned her Master of Music Degree in Viola Performance, Suzuki Teacher Training in Violin, and a teaching license in K-12 Music Education. Beth has four decades of professional and amateur orchestra experience, chamber music, coaching youth orchestra string sections, and adjudicating solo music festivals. Concurrently, Beth has 24 years of teaching private lessons and encouraging lifelong musicians. Beth is a member of ASTA, MNSOTA, Suzuki Association of the Americas, and a MSHSL Music Adjudicator.
Teaching Philosophy
Beth brings a fresh look to learning the viola or violin! For example, the goal for the student may be winning an audition, playing for sheer pleasure, experiencing more enjoyment in orchestra class, or accomplishing a "bucket list" item. Birchcreek creates confidence through music by developing your talent with patience, kindness, work ethic, belonging, and mindfulness. My focus is on the journey-learning to be humble when successful and empathetic towards self/competitor/situation when the outcome is otherwise.
What Music Styles Can You Learn ?
Classical, Orchestral, Chamber Music, Rock, Celtic, Fiddle, Jazz, Pop & K-Pop and improvisation.
